Here are some helpful tips to help you prepare for your upcoming exams!

  1. Don’t procrastinate
    • Don’t wait till the last minute to start studying everything! It can be overwhelming going over all of that material, so try to study a little bit every night in sections. You could review a chapter for a day or two and then move on to the next one.
  2. Take breaks
    • Reviewing exam material can feel stressful. It is important that you take breaks in between studying. Take a 5-10 minute break after studying for 25-30 minutes. Take a walk or eat a snack. If you get easily distracted, set a timer for yourself so that you remember to break things up.
  3. Make good use of your tutorial time
    • Don’t be afraid to ask your teachers for help! If you don’t understand something and need explanations, make sure to go to tutorial and ask your teacher.
  4. Eliminate distractions
    • If you need to go on your phone, put it on Do Not Disturb so you won’t receive notifications on your home screen. Here’s a link for instructions on how to put your phone on Do Not Disturb: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204321. Try to keep your phone away from your studying area, so you won’t be distracted. You can also put time limits on both your phone and computer, so you can’t use certain apps like social media. Here are instructions to help you set up screen time limits on your phone: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208982 and yourcomputer:https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/set-time-limits-for-apps-and-websites-mchl630bc02f/mac.
  5. Be organized
    • Write down what section of the subject you are studying each night to keep track of everything. This way you know what you still need to review and what you’ve already reviewed. Organization is key to reducing stress and making sure you remain focused and productive.
