Artist’s Statement
Every artist knows hands are enormously difficult to draw accurately, so what is our very first assignment in our beginning drawing class… drawing 10 hands, each in a different pose. Most people got extremely frustrated with their work, and I certainly did myself. Still, I stuck with it to the end, adding each minute crease and mark of the entirely unique muse, my own hand, to each and every depiction. And now it serves as a constant reminder that one can never accomplish anything without reaching out beyond the comfort zone and into the unknown.
