The Melt: Melting Down The Comments
Recapped by Trey Voegtlin
Welcome Back to The Melt! This week, we discussed anything and everything related to scandal, musical newcomers and future film and music projects. Wendy Williams, the pop culture goddess herself, has officially signed an affidavit, claiming that she does not have dementia and explaining that her doctors are making her condition worse than it really is. Wendy has faced years of constant battles between her providers, and a docuseries called “Where is Wendy Williams?” was released on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, that chronicles the life of the TV host as she enters the next chapter of her life. Speaking of social media icons, TikTok is officially back in the app store after its complicated ban was halted by President Trump. 2020 TikTok Icon Addison Rae has been cruising after her recent rebrand, following her collaborations with Charli xcx on her debut EP + the Von Dutch remix, and “The Sweat Tour” with Charli xcx, Troye Sivan, and appearances with Lorde. Along with her impressive collabs, she has released three singles:“Diet Pepsi,” “Aquamarine” and “High Fashion.” Following popular debuts, Chappell Roan has been teasing her single, “The Giver,” and fans anticipate a possible sophomore album. Other album announcements and releases include Sky Ferreria’s highly anticipated sophomore album and Drake’s newest album, released on Friday, Feb. 14, 2025. Concluding this episode, we discussed some of the major category wins from the SAG Awards, which took place on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2025. That wraps up this week’s recap. Tune in next time for another episode of The Melt.
Sincerely,
Greta Vianna Sletteland, Trey Voegtlin
*Although this wasn’t included in this week’s episode, we wanted to pay our respects to pop culture icon and outstanding actress Michelle Trachtenberg, who passed away on Feb. 26, 2025. You may know her from ‘Gossip Girl’ or ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and her respectable performances on both TV shows.*
