The Melt: Melting Down the Final Bits of Award Season
Recapped by Trey Voegtlin
This week, we talked about a few new major music announcements and finally wrapped up the award season with our discussions about the Billboard Women in Music Awards along with the 97th Annual Oscars ceremony. Starting with music, Ariana Grande announced the highly anticipated Eternal Sunshine deluxe, Brighter Days Ahead, that is set to release on March 28, 2025. She later announced a short film set to release on March 29, 2025, along with the deluxe. Next, Kali Uchis announced on Instagram on March 17, 2025, her upcoming album, Sincerely, which has been hinted at since last year around the time that she released her fourth studio album, ORQUIDEAS. Getting down to the nitty-gritty, we discussed some of the winners at the Billboard Women in Music Awards, such as Aespa (Best Group), Jennie (Global Force), Doechii (Woman of the Year) and Gracie Abrams (Songwriter of the Year). Finally, we concluded the acting award season with the Oscars, which took place on March 2. We saw some striking wins, such as Mikey Madison’s win for Best Actress and the general Anora sweep. Along with that, we also discussed some of the anticipated wins, such as Kieran Culkin (Best Supporting Actor) and Zoe Saldaña (Best Supporting Actress). That wraps up this week’s recap. Tune in next time for another episode of The Melt.
Sincerely,
