The Melt: Melting Down the Drama

Without a doubt, there have been stirs of drama within the film and music industry in recent weeks rising from chart disputes, relationships and overall box-office flops. On March 28, 2025, Ariana Grande released the long-awaited Eternal Sunshine Deluxe with its six new tracks, which then soared through the Billboard Hot 100, eventually landing in its current disputes with Playboi Carti’s album Music. Following the release of Selena Gomez’s and Benny Blanco’s collaborative album titled I Said I Love You First, Justin Bieber has been falling apart on Instagram while divorce rumors concerning him and his current wife, Haley Bieber, percolate. Meanwhile, in movie controversies, box office-fail Snow White Live Action and the polarizing Minecraft Movie have been garnering attention. Snow White star Rachel Zegler has been the subject of much discourse, focusing on everything from her race to her overall attitude towards the original 1939 film. A Minecraft Movie has been at the top of many watchlists and has had several mixed reviews. Although it hasn’t exactly bombed at the boxoffice, it has been noted as being so bad, it’s kind of good.
