Welcome back to another year of The Melt! Summer has officially simmered, and the waves have officially washed up, leaving the biggest marketing campaigns of the year, ticketmaster wars and shockingly, dead bodies??
The 2025 VMAS occurred on Sept. 7, at 8 PM, and let’s just say the winners were rather controversial. Sabrina Carpenter took home Album of the Year for her most recent record, Man’s Best Friend; Lisa took home best Kpop and Alex Warren took home best new artist. It seemed like the VMAS kept their cameras and all eyes on Ariana Grande, who just recently announced her tour coming the summer of 2026.
Singer D4vd is now under hot water for the dead body found in his car, amid his Withered 2025 Tour.
Also in hot water, Sabrina Carpenter has stirred the pot with her new album, “Man’s Best Friend,” and has led people to question her on her photoshoot choices, such as referencing the book “Lolita,” which is a story about a child predator.
Similarly to Carpenter’s imagery choices, Sydney Sweeney has caught herself under fire for her advertisement campaign with American Eagle Jeans, referencing Brooke Shields’ Calvin Klein ad and eugenics.
On the other hand, girl-group, Katseye, has gone insanely viral for their several marketing campaigns, from Gnarly to the GAP ad, it doesn’t take an amateur’s eye to notice that Katseye is a marketing genius, and they are only going up in popularity.
Netflix has also officially released the entirety of season 2 of “Wednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega, who has also been under fire for her aesthetic choices that are almost opposite to Sweeney and Carpenter.
Finally, Cardi B has officially finished her assault lawsuit, in which she did end up winning, and had the internet memeing for weeks.
This concludes our recap of last week’s episode of The Melt; tune in this week for yet another episode.
Sincerely,
