CHOCOLATE
What Easter candy is better than chocolate? The egg-shaped Reese’s, along with Twix, KitKat, and M&M’s cannot be topped. The chocolate bunnies are great too, as well as the “chocolate eggs, which continue to be the most popular candy associated with Easter. They are also the oldest candy tradition, having been made in Germany in the early 19th century,” according to Abdallah Candies.
Some might go so far as to say that anything chocolate counts as the best Easter candy. Halloween is the holiday in which the most candy is given, but “most years, Easter yields the second most candy gifts given, behind Halloween.” During an Easter Egg Hunt, the hunter is more likely to find chocolate inside their egg than any other candy, which goes to show how much chocolate is enjoyed during the holiday. Jellybeans, marshmallows, Peeps, Sweet Tarts and other sweet treats are good Easter candies, but they are not better than the chocolate sweets served during Easter.
PEEPS
While chocolate happens to make amazing Easter treats, there is nothing better than Peeps for a festive, delicious and sweet marshmallow treat. According to Vox.com, Peeps were created by Russian immigrant, Sam Born, in 1910. Obviously, something that has been famous and admired for over 100 years has got to be delicious. Even better, however, are their relativity to the event in particular. While Reese’s eggs do involve some easter symbolism, not many other chocolates do, whereas peeps come in specific bunny and chicks shapes. Covered in sugary goodness, these forms of the scrumptious treat emphasize Easter’s sweetness and key symbols of a bunny, chicks and eggs as well as their representation of fertility and birth. Plus, there are two or three chocolate dots on the candy for absolute chocolate lovers. Thus, the perfect and most amazing, delicious, popular and perfect treat for Easter should be… Peeps!!
